It was past the Spiders’ bedtime Monday night for yet another blowout loss.
Facing the 11th-place Blue Ox (2–4), the Spiders could muster only a single goal, while defensive (and official) breakdowns put the Spiders on their heels early.
Midway through the second, the Spiders made it interesting, with Benson’s point shot, from Ronneberg. But that was answered back on the next shift. At which point the striped crew had apparently swallowed their whistles so far they couldn’t see any Ox Antics due to the whistle indigestion.
A rare lecture from the zebras to try to regain control of the game they encouraged to get out of hand, and it was quiet from then on. But for a few more goals against, and the horn finally blew at 11:15 p.m.

The Spider skid continues, with seven games in the books and nary an honorary point in the standings column.
Next up, another school night game, this one against the also-winless Saints. In an eerie echo of last season, the Spiders got their first W against that team, in early December 2024, a 4-2 win.
Other than that, it’s been All Saints (0–3), dating back to the first meeting in the 2021–22 playoffs.
