Hockey starts tomorrow

The puck drops on the Spiders’ hopefully luckier 13th AHA season Saturday night. It’s your first chance to see the 2016–17 C3 Spiders in action.

The Spiders open the season against a new-to-C3 team, the Silverbacks, who went 11–8–0–1 last season, and 2–1 in the playoffs. They’ve made a habit of reaching the AHA post-season and taking home hardware, with two consecutive championships, as D2 champs in their first season, and D1 the next year, and runner-up in their third year, when they were backstopped by current Wingmen goaltender John Fleischhacker, who still skates out on the team.

This season, the Spiders will attempt to get back to their own previously winning — and playoff-bound — ways, having produced two consecutive losing seasons, including an 8–11–1 record in 2015–16.

Of course, season ticket packages are still available — Head to Breck Saturday night. Puck drops 7:45 p.m.
