Spiders get ready for the 2023–24 Winter Season

The AHA 2023–24 winter season, the league’s 22nd year and the Spiders’ 20th, gets underway tomorrow.

The Spiders take on the Fighting Loons for the first game. It’s your first chance to see the Spiders’ 2023–24 roster, with a few changes since last season.

The Spiders bid a fond (and hopefully temporary) farewell to:

• Brian Woods
• Andy Moses
• Goaltender Terry Tucker

And a warm welcome (BACK) to the Spiders:

Dave Schuster returns from retirement (as was announced in March 2022).

And Jon Pappone returns from the IR list after one season away.

The team captaincy remains unchanged following the usual unanimous single vote (last season) by Dave Schuster: Jeremy Litton as captain, and Eric Grotbeck and Mike Schroeder as alternates.

The rest of the Spiders’ roster remains the same (albeit another year closer to the AARP league eligibility) and is ready to hit the ice to kick off the Spiders’ 20th season in the AHA (19th winter season; 20th including Beginner School), and will look to return to the playoffs for the third consecutive season (after a bit of a drought).
