Spiders win, lose

Despite a short-benched shutout of the Nordeasters in the first game of 2022, the Spiders came away with a big loss.

In the second, Scott Bredael got taken out of the play against the boards on a boarding call gone way wrong, and subsequently taken out of the AHA season with a “lower-body” injury.

The Spiders wish Scott a speedy recovery and return to the ice.

The Spiders also regretfully announce the mid-season retirement of David Schuster. Dave joined the team from the Spiders minor league taxi squad (D1 Ice Sages) 12 years ago, and has owned Schuster’s Office™ since that day.

The Spiders will return to action vs. the Fighting Walleye (6–2), who are in a three-way tie for 2nd place with the Spiders and Royals, on Sunday, Jan. 9, at Hopkins Pavilion.
