Spiders set team record (in penalty minutes)

The Spiders went down in defeat in tonight’s first game of 2007, losing to the Sled Dogs 5–1. While the Spiders couldn’t find the back to of the net, they definitely found the penalty box, setting a new team record for penalty minutes in a single game, with 20.

Other than that, there’s not much more to say. The Spiders’ lone goal came from Brian Armagost, in the third period at 10:33.

Unfortunately, we’re afraid of overloading the web sever if all tonight’s penalties are listed here. But, with the exorbitant penalties, the Spiders gave up no shorthanded goals, despite facing (to my count) four 5-on-3 penalty kills. Way to go, PK unit!

Next up, the Spiders face the Knights, and will try to shake off the post-holiday funk.
