‘Great Freeze Off 2019’ postpones Spiders game for first time since 2010

The arctic temps descending on the Midwest are apparently not compatible with certain winter sports. Yes, the Spiders/IceDogs tilt scheduled for 9:30 tonight at Woog/Wakota has been postponed due to the Polar Vortex.

The last (and only) time a C3/D1/D2 Spider game has been postponed due to weather was the “Snownami 2010” vs. the Puck Hounds, originally scheduled for Dec. 11, 2010, and rescheduled for March 26, 2011, when the then D1 Spiders capped their undefeated run to go 19–0–1.

For tonight’s cancellation, it just means the Spiders are guaranteed to not add to the loss column tonight!

If you held tickets to tonight’s event, the AHA will provide equivalent tickets to the rescheduled game, as long as the tickets were purchased through an authorized AHA ticket reseller.

The Spiders will return to the warmer ice after the Super Bowl Bye, Feb. 9, vs. the Ak Bars.
