Spiders return to form, lose 6–1 to Arctic Wolves

Winning streak over at one, Spiders still giving out hat tricks.

While the 2018–19 swoon has been marked by giving up early leads, shorthanded goals and Texas hat tricks, the Spiders avoided all those hallmarks Sunday against the fourth-place Arctic Wolves. But it still ended in a 6–1 loss and another tally for the L column.

The Wolves’ #29 D. Salamone scored early, then often, but was only able to manage a standard-issue hat trick.

The Spiders’ lone goal came early in the second, Grotbeck from Freed and Pettengill. And the lone two-minute sit was for the Spiders as well, thus denying the Wolves any chance at adding to the Spiders’ shorthanded goals against stat, which currently sits at five on the season.
