The Spiders defeated by Outlaws 6–2

The Spiders lost to the Outlaws tonight 6 to 2 at the State Fair Coliseum. No pronto pups were served, but the Spiders put up a blue-ribbon performance against a very good team in the Outlaws.

The two Spiders’ goals came in the third period:

  • The first from left wing Lu Kwan, in her first goal of the season, with assists by Bob “Bobby” Jensen and John “Mad Dog” Rajes.
  • The second goal, also his first goal of the season, by left wing Bruce Gustafson, with assist from Doug Thorson.

Goalkeeper Jeff Keacher kept it close, with 26 saves on 32 shots.

The Spiders got only one penalty, by center Eric Anderson for tripping. He looked innocent to us.
