Spiders soar over Eagles

While no “hat tricks” were scored, Mark Bortnem remained en fuego by netting the Game Winner over the Eagles...

The Spiders seemed to control the tempo from the drop of the puck to the final buzzer to remain in first place with a 3-0 win over the Eagles. Although the Eagles maintained the edge in shots throughout the game, the hot goaltending of Brian Dow never allowed the Eagles to ever really mount a serious challenge.

The Spiders netted a goal in each of the three periods to maintain their stronghold on the division lead. The goals were scored by:

First Period – Mark Bortnem from Jack “the hammer” Delsing

Second Period – “The Hammer” Delsing from Brian Armogost

Third Period – Tim Forcelle from Mark Bortnem

The only Spider penalty came from...Yep, you guessed it — Jack Delsing! Double minor for Roughing. (Most likely 2 minutes for knocking the guy to the ice and another 2 for standing over him daring him to get up.)

Your Copenhagen “big dippers” of the game:

#3 – Tim Forcelle – Nice goal, big chew in the locker room.

#2 – Mark Bornem – 1G, 1A, GWG

…and your Copenhagen Player of the Game....

#5 Brian Dow – 1st Shutout of the season. 34 saves, and he drew 12 minutes worth of penalties...Way to go Brian!
