The Spiders were officially eliminated from the playoff picture with a 7-2 loss to the Minnesota Loons on Sunday night.
The Loons jumped out to a 3-0 lead early in the 2nd period before the Spiders closed to 3-2 at the end of the period. But, as has been the case during the Spiders’ recent swoon, defensive deficiencies led to an onslaught of Loons goals.
Jay Hilden and Mario Mariani scored for the Spiders, who have now lost three straight to drop to 6-10-1.
The Spiders next take the ice against the Taz Devils with a 7:45pm puck drop at SLP E on Saturday, March 14th.
