AHA Advertisement Wisely Focuses On Spiders

Recent visits to the finest urinals in the Twin Cities have uncovered the latest advertising campaign for the AHA. The photo below was recently captured at the Mann Grandview Theater east urinal.

Initial reaction is shock that they haven’t chosen “THIS IS THE AHA!” as the new slogan, much to the disappointment of Spider captain Dave Schliesman. Upon further inspection, 20 seconds at a time, the photo on the bottom-left shows C2 Spider defenseman Josh Cagle in a game from the 2010-11 season against the Fighting Piranhas.

Spiders Chief Legal Counsel Marc Berris of Segal, Roston & Berris has stated they are reviewing whether the AHA has infringed on any Spider trademarks. Attempts to reach a spokesman for the defunct IHL franchise San Francisco Spiders for comment were unsuccessful.

In related news, a source with knowledge of the situation has confirmed trademark litigation isn’t the only legal issue currently concerning the Spiders. A story published on ahaspiders.com on Monday described Zephyrs players as “goons, hacks, convicts, and stiffs” after a rugged 4-4 tie on Sunday evening. The Zephyrs are reportedly considering a libel suit, although it’s not immediately clear if the account is inaccurate as they lead the AHA with 159 penalty minutes. A well-placed source within the organization, who wished to remain anonymous, was unperturbed, stating, “In a legal sense, the truth is protection from libel. So those bozos, hoodlums, gorillas, meatheads, and ruffians can suck it.”
