Spiders Move Admirals to the Rear

The Spiders start the season out 2–0 with a 5–4 victory over the Admirals. The Spiders started out hot with 13 shots in the first period. Brian Armagost set up Dave Schliesman for his first of the season. John Trentor had a heck of a game with a goal (Forcelle assisting) and an assist. Not to mention the many scoring chances created. The first period Spider scoring was finished with a goal from Josh Cagle on a pass from Bob Harnett. The Admirals did manage to score twice in the first. The second period did not have any scoring. However it did have a double minor from the Mad Italian I (Jim Maietta). The Mad Italian II was a DNP (coaches decision, due to choosing the WILD over the Spiders). The Spiders successfully fought off the 4 minutes. In the third again the Spiders scored early and often, widening their lead to 5–2. This would not last long as the Spiders legs grew weaker as nite went on. The Admirals out shot the Spiders 13–8 and the Spiders every other shifts began to show. The Admirals scored twice in the third to make the score 5–4.

Good Goaltending, strong defense (by the way, our defensemen have 6 goals this season), and great scoring opportunties were enuff to fight off the weary legs of the the Spiders to start the season 2–0.

Special thanks to Chris Trinh (goalie), Jeremy Litton (Defensemen/webmaster), Brian Armagost and Carlos Ebarhardt for subbing.

Other noteworthy stats, penalties from Forcelle (tripping) and Tromiczak (hold) resulted in no powerplay goals. The Admirals had 8 penalties with 2 players each getting 3 (hacks).
