Spiders Celebrate Family Night at Richfield

Fans also had a chance to take Spider pictures and get autographs with their favorite Spider player. One youngster was quoted as saying, “Man, is this cool, I never seen a real hockey player!” The families filled the arena. There were plenty of fans wearing their Spider gear and of course the Spider signs seemed to be draping the glass every where you looked. Young Mario Maietta was so excited he had a hard time keeping score. He seems determined to get himself his own Spider jersey with his favorite number 66 on the back. The kids also had a chance to see plenty of goals scored with a total of 16 goals. This added to the excitement of seeing the real live Spiders. In fact, there were even 6 goals scored in the first period and 6 in the second period. This sure kept the kids from asking for more candy. Well, maybe not, but it could have.

Anyway...

The Spiders’ scoring was done by Jim Maietta, Greg Lindsley, Shawn Tromiczak and Josh Cagle in the 11-5 loss.

Attendance: 31.
