Spiders prove ready for playoffs

In a game that some had hoped had lots of playoff implications, turned into a playoff tune up for the high flying Spiders. The Spiders were wishing the game would have meant a possible first place finish, but the cards were dealt last Thursday when the Zephyrs clinched first place in the North Division.

Meanwhile the Spiders came out flying and controlled the game from the first drop of the puck. In the first, the shots on goal seemed close at 12-9, but the Spiders lead 3-0 after one. By the second, the game was all but over. The Yellow Jackets, a formidable Playoff team, clearly was not giving much effort. However, the Spiders never let up. Superior defense by Stalpes, Adelman, Lindsey and Thorson, along with Dow in the nets, held back any attack the Jackets would muster. The Spiders offense was in high gear with scoring spread through out the team. In the end, the Spiders won 9-2 and out shot them 40-22.

Get ready for playoffs as the Spiders have high hopes to push to the end and taste the Championship Cup.
