Spiders beat Admirals in scoring opportunities...

... But fail to capitalize on putting the puck in the net. Believe it or not, but the Spiders played one of their best games of the year. There were plenty of scoring opportunities. There was hustle. There was back-checking and fore-checking. We even managed to break it out of our zone on a regular basis. All of this, but we failed to put the puck in the net. We had no less than ten opportunities.

New lines and and new defensemen created great opportunity. Chad Sande played a great game, as well as our defensemen (Thorson, Cagle, Harnett, Trentor and Delsing). It was the kind of game the Spiders were looking for. The fact is, it was one of the best of the year, despite the loss.

The Spiders score in the first on Tim Forcelle’s first of the year, with assists from Harnett and Thorsen. Later in the third Doug Thorson set up Jim Maietta for the Spiders’ second and last goal of the game. The Spiders lose 4-2.
