Spiders had a Poor showing (literally) against the Spartans

The Spiders lost 3-2 in a crazy strange game against the Spartans. A few Spiders were unexpectedly missing from tonight’s game (Harnett, Sande and Stalpes). The Spiders Director of Player personel had to go to work before, during and after the game looking for the Spiders team. The Spiders started the game with a B-level goalie, then Chrin Trinh was kind enough to be interupted during his dinner to join the Spiders for the second half of the game. Jim Maietta was welcomed back only to learn that Trentor has tweaked his back and had to leave the game early in the first.

With that the Spiders fell down early in the first with an easy Spartan goal. However, Jim Green quickly returned the favor tying the game on a pass from Doug Thorson. The Spiders gave up another goal in the second now down 2-1. Brad Butalla would tie the game with his first gaol since playing for the 1985 Coon Rapids Coonies. The Spartans quickly answered back and the Spiders found themselves looking for answers in the 3-2 loss. The Spiders were outshot 28-22.

Rumor has it, the Spiders top brass is not happy with the personnel nor the play of the team. It was overheard in the hallway that there were calls being made to the D1 Spiders GM Bob Jensen to make arrangements for some player exchanges and to see if he is interested in purchasing any of the C2 Spiders contracts.
