Spiders don’t call timeout

In a 5–0 shellacking by the Marauders, it was the winning team who was “tired.”

It’s not often in an AHA season when something memorable happens on the ice. But tonight at TCO, the 2nd-place Marauders, after dominating the entire game, and up 4-donut with 12 minutes to go in the third, actually called a timeout, because their top line was “tired.” In an AHA game. Barrister O’Connor registered his objection, with the ref judges concurring.

Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln enjoyed the game. The Spiders’ lone offense came from defenseman Litton on his first shift, beautifully deflecting a point shot past his goalie. And it was all downhill from there, while #95 Borchert on the Marauders tallied a Texas Hat Trick.

Final score: 5–0

Next up, one more stop before golf season (if the predicted snow relents). Puck drop Sunday, 9 p.m. at EPCC1, vs the Kan Jammers, who are in a must-win to maintain post-season hopes (depending on tiebreakers). Post-game press conference at Tavern 4&5.
