Hockey starts tonight

With an October winter weather advisory out for the Twin Cities Thursday night, that can only mean one thing: It’s time for AHA hockey.

The puck drops on the Spiders’ 14th AHA season Thursday night. It’s your first chance to see the 2017–18 C3 Spiders in action.

And for the first time in the team’s history, the Spiders drop the puck on the AHA season league-wide, along with the other C3 East teams.

The Spiders open the season against the Wolf-Rayets, a team the Spiders have never played. That team went 15–4–1–0 last year in C3 North, their first season moving up from D1, and cruised all the way to the C3 championshp, only to get knocked off by the Northern Gators with 27 seconds left in overtime, losing 4–3.

This season, the Spiders will seek to return to their winning ways after three consecutive losing seasons, and get themselves back into the AHA post-season.

Head to the Breck Thursday night, puck drops on the AHA season at 9:30 p.m.
