Happy Hockey Day/Weekend In/Across America from the Spiders

It’s Hockey Day In America and Hockey Weekend Across America. So the C3 Spiders will do their part celebrating the sport of hockey in the USA by taking on the Moose tonight at the Coliseum on the State Fairgrounds this afternoon at 4:15 p.m.

The fourth-place Spiders are looking to further solidify their playoff chances after putting together a three-game winning streak to resurrect their season. And the first-place Moose, last season’s C3 champs, continue their domination over the rest of C3 East, at 13–1–1 and a seven-game undefeated streak (having gone 6–0–1).

And it’s a slate of intricate implications for C3 East playoff chances. From the Spiders’ current 63.2 chance to skate in April, today’s matchups:

  • If Sled Dogs beat Mastodons, Spiders drop to 44.9% while Sled Dogs jump to 65.2.
  • If Mastodons beat Sled Dogs, Spiders up to 72.8, while Sled Dogs slip to 29.8.
  • The Fighting Saints/Diablos game has less of an impact, though a win puts Fighting Saints at 97% chance.
  • And for Spiders/Moose: a Spiders win, increase to 85%, Sled Dogs drop to just 25.5%. But a Spider loss: Spiders sink to 55.6, while Sled Dogs close the gap to 47.7.

Forget the Wild/Red Wings game happening down the road at the X. Record the Gopher/Badger outdoor game at Solider Field on the DVR. Instead, head to the Coliseum for some Pronto Pups and C3 adult hockey and celebrate Hockey Day/Weekend in style.
