The Spiders started out strong and looked good in the first, getting the first goal of the game from Spiders goal-scoring leader Dave Schliesman, unassisted. Both teams were equally matched in the first, with 11 shots and one goal each. But it wouldn’t last, and the Spiders couldn’t get anything through the Outlaws’ goalkeeper, who stopped everything the rest of the game despite some great chances, including three power-play opportunities.
The lone Spiders goal, from center Dave Schliesman, at 11:10 in the first, unassisted.
The lone Spiders penalty from defenseman Carlos Eberhardt, for hooking, at 11:14 in the third period. He looked pretty innocent though.
The Spiders put up a very respectable 27 shots on goal, and goalkeeper Jeff Keacher, fresh back from international travel, made some great stops, with 26 saves on 32 shots.
