The Spiders dropped a 4-2 decision tp the Rack Attack on the big ice of BIG 3. Both the shot totals (32-31 in favor of the Rack Attack) and 4-2 final score flatter the Spiders. The Rack Attack forecheck kept the Spiders pinned in their own end for long periods and prevented any sustained possession.
After a scoreless first period the Rack Attack took a 2-0 lead int he middle stanza. Brian Dow made some big saves to keep the Spiders in it. Christian Peterson got the Spiders back within striking distance, slotting home a rebound off a shot from the point. But a couple quick Rack Attack goals sealed it before Joe Long scored a breakaway late to make the final 4-2.
The Spiders sit in second place in the B3 East. Next up is a matinee 5:30 faceoff against the Taz Devils on Saturday, March 17th. A win will go a long way toward clinching a playoff berth.
